Ceramic evaporating dishes are used to evaporate concentrated solutions or to burn solids. The mouth is shallow and the bottom is round. The most commonly used is the porcelain evaporating dish, the specifications are expressed in diameter, and there are many kinds of 60~125mm.

Main use: Evaporate liquid, concentrate solution or dry solid material.

Precautions

1) It cannot be quenched after heating to prevent cracking.

2) After heating, it should not be placed directly on the experimental table. It should be placed on the asbestos net to avoid scalding the test table.

3) When the amount of liquid is large, it can be directly heated, and the amount of liquid or viscous liquid should be heated by asbestos net.

4) When heating the evaporating dish, continue to stir with a glass rod to prevent the liquid from being locally splashed.

5) After heating, the evaporating dish needs to be moved with a pliers.

6) After a large amount of solids are precipitated, the alcohol lamp is extinguished, and the remaining water is evaporated with residual heat. Ceramic evaporating dish can withstand high temperature, but can not be quenched. Use the tongs to pick up and place the evaporating dish. When heating, fix it with a tripod or iron stand. When the amount of liquid is large, it can be heated and evaporated directly on the flame, but the amount of liquid cannot exceed two-thirds of its volume. When the amount of liquid is small or viscous, it should be heated through an asbestos web. The evaporating dish is mainly used for distillation and other operations and is an ideal chemical distillation instrument.
